When a person passes away it is necessary, in most cases, to distribute their estate (property belonging them). In Louisiana this procedure is called a “Succession”.

Estate planning is the process of arranging for disposal and disbursement of the estate after a person passes away. It involves preparing a Last Will and Testament, designating beneficiaries, creating Trusts, preparing Powers of Attorney and accounting for the assets and liabilities of the estate.

Our firm has extensive experience ensuring that the deceased person’s wishes are carried out as expressed in their Last Will and Testament. In the event a Last Will and Testament was not created then Louisiana law provides for the distribution of their assets to their rightful heirs.

We understand but this can be an emotional strain on the decedents family , and as such, all matters or handled as expediently as possible to ensure a smooth transition.
